AFTER THE PURCHASE, BEFORE DELIVERY
Permits Do i Need them?
Preparing for your New Metal Bldg.
Before the installation crew arrives at the site to install your metal building, there are a few preparations you need to make. These preparations will ensure that construction happens on time and as smoothly as possible.
First, you need to obtain the building permits required for the construction of your metal building. It is the customer’s responsibility to find out if a permit is required and to acquire it. Any municipal permits that you will need concerning the utility lines through the site is your responsibility.
Next, make sure the supply lines are marked (if there are any) for the safety of the installation crew.
Installation Preparation
Before the installation begins, you should also remove all the obstructions and debris that might hinder the construction. Obstructions may include vegetation, power lines, etc.
Please Be sure to have a minimum of 3' clearance all the way around where your building will be installed to give our crews plenty of space to work around your future metal building.
Installation Surfaces:
The most important step is to insure the site is level. Any site that is not flat is considered to be unstable for the construction of the metal building. Failure to level the area may give rise to faults, like cracks and leaks or may even cause the building to lean on one side. If the crew is forced to install the metal building on a site that is not flat, some of your warranties may be deemed void.
We categorize our surfaces into four basic types; dirt surfaces, asphalt surfaces, concrete surfaces, and wooden surfaces. The difference between the installations over various kinds of surfaces is the anchors used.
What regulations apply to concrete slabs or foundation?
-
Minimum of 4″ thick slab for normal residential use ( cars, light trucks, etc )
What size should I build my concrete slab?
The slab size should be equal to the building frame dimensions (ex. 20'x30' bld needs a 20'x30' slab outside to outside) . This allows the siding to overhand the foundation which effectively prevents water from flowing under the walls. If you want a water ledge be sure to put these away from the building.
Lead Time:
Once an order is placed for a carport or metal building from your authorized dealer, it is sent to us for production. As soon as your order is received by us, one of our customer service representatives will call you to go over all the details to make sure nothing was missed upon purchasing. They will also help you to schedule the date for the delivery and installation. Typically, we deliver the metal building is within 4-6 weeks from the day you are ready to receive the order. However, this time period may vary due to unfavorable weather conditions, customer demands, etc. Also if your building will be placed on concrete we cannot start scheduling until you have gotten your pad poured. Please be sure to give us a call as soon as your concrete gets poured so we can get back on our delivery schedule.
Payments
Please be advised ALL ORDERS ARE COD. Your order will have been placed with one of our Authorized Dealers, which will have asked you for a deposit. This is to ensure the sale and manufacturing process of your new building. Most carports are fully finished the same day while a garage or barn can take from 2-3 days, please be sure to ask 1 of our customer service reps the total amount of days your building will take to ensure that you are aware and present to fully inspect your building upon completion. Upon completion of your building our Installation Crew will collect the remaining Balance Due. We strongly suggest you be present at the completion of your building. To help prevent any delays for the installation crews, please be sure to have a check or money order ready and made out to NEW VISION CARPORTS. We also accept Debit or Credit cards but are subject to a 3.5% PROCCESSING FEE. Please call us at (936)715-0010 if making a card payment. If payment is not made to the crew upon completion there will be a 15% upcharge added to the balance due.
